Sarapiqui River - One day , class III White
Water Rafting
Winding through the region of the "Eternal Spring," the Sarapiquí River offers some of Costa Rica's most enjoyable white water river rafting amidst lush and vibrant scenery. The free-flowing river has its origins in clear mountain streams that tumble down through thick rain forest to merge with the crystal waters of the beautiful Sarapiquí. Verdant forest reaches right up to the river's sun-basked banks. If Matisse had come to Costa Rica, this is what he would have painted!
This narrow waterway is ideal for white water novices, as well as families, all of whom will enjoy its moderately flowing rapids, interspersed with tranquil stretches. The journey is also excellent for bird-watchers and other nature lovers. The river stretches its way through lush vegetation that is home to hummingbirds, toucans, woodpeckers and scores of other native bird species. Don't miss this classic tropical river experience!
We will pick you up from your San José hotel in the early morning and drive approximately two and a half hours through beautiful scenery to the river put-in. A traditional breakfast is served at a restaurant along the way. After a short safety briefing, you will board your inflatable raft and begin this memorable journey downriver. A picnic lunch will be served on the banks of the river. Take-out will be in the afternoon, and you can change into dry clothes in our private restroom facilities before boarding the comfortable minibus for the return trip to San José. |
